Arrival of Panagia Gerontissa in Itea

On May 30, 2025, the holy and wonderworking icon of Panagia Gerontissa from the Holy Monastery of Pantokrator on Mount Athos was brought to Itea, Fokida, for the blessing and sanctification of the faithful.

The icon was received with reverence and devotion and was placed in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, where it remained for veneration.

The presence of Panagia Gerontissa became a source of spiritual comfort and strengthening for the faithful, reminding all of the living presence and protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.
